Basic Safety Training

Basic Safety Training, also offered at Quality Maritime Training, is the minimum STCW training required for all mariners that need to comply with the STCW Code. This course meets the STCW requirements and includes Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid, Fire Prevention/Fire Fighting and Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities.

Before STCW-95 Training Begins

Quality Maritime Training takes the time to speak to each applicant to assess their career path and what they need to do to prepare for that path. Before any STCW-95 training classes are scheduled or tuition is collected, we ensure that each student understands and accepts his or her obligations for training and is willing and ready to do what needs to be done to meet these requirements. We believe this is the sure way to give our students an advantage in the workplace and ensure their advancement.

Usually, we take additional steps with each of our courses: 1) process questions are answered at the time of physical registration/enrollment; 2) each course beings with a "Why are we here?" overview session to determine is the course meets the licensing for STCW regulations the student wishes to fulfill with this course.

These steps further ensure that the students' time won't be wasted on courses they don't need, and that they truly wish to be in the maritime field.
